Securing Automation at Scale: Introducing the Robility Credential Vault

In today’s digital ecosystem, automation platforms are increasingly at the heart of mission-critical processes—and with that comes the responsibility to protect sensitive information with uncompromising precision. Credentials, API keys, tokens, and other secrets are often the gateway to core systems, and mishandling them can jeopardize security and compliance.

To address this challenge, we’re proud to introduce the Robility Credential Vault, a secure and privacy-focused feature designed to safeguard confidential data throughout your automation lifecycle.

What Is the Robility Credential Vault?

The Robility Credential Vault is an enterprise-grade solution embedded within the Robility platform, designed to manage and protect sensitive data such as credentials, API secrets, certificates, and more. Built with zero-compromise security principles, the Vault ensures credentials are securely stored, accessed, and audited—reducing the risk of exposure and improving trust across automation pipelines.

By default, credential storage is configured at the Robility Manager Instance level, offering tenant-level flexibility. This configuration can be customized within the tenant selection settings, ensuring that data control remains with your organization’s administrators.

Built for Security from the Ground Up

Security and privacy are not afterthoughts—they’re foundational to how the Robility Credential Vault is designed. Here’s how we ensure your data is protected at every layer:

1. Tenant Isolation with Azure SQL MI

Each tenant’s credentials are stored in isolated environments, backed by Azure SQL Managed Instances. Physical database isolation ensures that no tenant can access another’s data, and all databases are protected by Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), securing data at rest using industry-standard cryptography.

2. AES-256 Encryption

Secrets stored in the Vault are encrypted using AES-256, the gold standard in encryption. Encryption keys are securely generated, managed, and protected within the Robility infrastructure, ensuring that only authorized entities can decrypt sensitive data.

3. End-to-End Secure Communication

All communication across Robility components—whether it’s bots interacting with the Vault, or Credential Vault operations syncing with the Robility Manager—is encrypted using TLS 1.2. This ensures that your secrets are always protected in transit.

4. Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)

Access to credentials is governed by a robust RBAC model, allowing organizations to strictly define who can read, write, or manage secrets. Whether it’s a developer, administrator, or unattended bot, permissions are enforced at every level to prevent unauthorized access.

5. Audit and Compliance Logging

Every interaction with the Vault is meticulously logged—whether it’s storing, retrieving, or updating credentials. These logs are essential for compliance, monitoring, and security investigations, providing transparency and traceability in regulated environments.

Integrating with Your Existing Vaults

We recognize that many enterprises already rely on existing secret management platforms. That’s why Robility offers native integration with third-party vaults, including:

> Azure Key Vault: Leverage Microsoft Azure’s secure key and secret management with Robility’s built-in integration. Enforce encryption policies and access controls that are consistent with your existing Azure infrastructure.

This flexibility ensures organizations can scale securely without overhauling their existing secret management strategies.

Why the Robility Credential Vault Matters

Implementing a secure credential management strategy offers more than just protection—it unlocks scalability and trust in automation.

Key Advantages:

  • 🔐 Enterprise-grade security using AES-256 encryption and TLS 1.2

  • 🧩 Centralized secret management for automation teams

  • 🔄 Audit readiness with complete activity logging

  • 📦 Seamless vault integration with platforms like Azure Key Vault

Considerations:

While the Vault is designed to streamline security, it’s important to recognize potential complexities:

> Infrastructure Dependency: A stable Robility Manager or third-party vault must be maintained.

> Configuration Expertise: External vaults require initial setup with attention to detail.

> Credential Rotation: Automating rotation policies may require additional workflows or platform-specific logic.

Built with Privacy in Mind

Above all, privacy is core to the Robility Credential Vault. From tenant isolation to encrypted communications and strict access policies, every interaction is designed to ensure your secrets remain yours—secure, untouchable, and private.

With increasing cyber threats and compliance mandates, the need for secure automation has never been greater. The Robility Credential Vault helps you meet that challenge—by delivering a trusted, scalable, and privacy-first credential management solution for the modern enterprise.
