Archive Settings

Archives are places where documents or files are preserved for future reference. They are used to collect multiple data files together into a single folder for easier storage. The runner application has archive properties that can be edited by navigating to the log settings on the logs screen. Please refer to the image below.

Archive Settings

The Archive Settings in the Robility Runner allow users to configure how log files are generated, archived, and maintained. These settings are available under the Logs screen in Log Settings.

To Access the Archive Settings

  1. Open the Robility Runner.
  2. Navigate to the Logs screen.
  3. Click the Settings icon.
  4. Configure the required log and archive settings.
  5. Click Save to apply the configuration.

Log Settings

The Log Settings section provides the following configuration options:

Setting Description
Remote Logging Enables or disables remote logging for the Runner.
Log Type Specifies the type of logs to be recorded.
Log Level Determines the level of information captured in the logs.

Archive Configuration Options

Roll Over Description Values / Notes
Archive Numbering Determines how archived log files are named or numbered. rolling, date, sequence, date & sequence
Archive Period Determines how frequently log files are archived. day, month, year, none
Concurrent Writes Determines whether multiple processes running on the same host can write to the log file simultaneously. true or false
File Size Specifies the maximum size of a log file before it is archived. Default: 5048576 bytes (editable)
Max No. of Files Specifies the maximum number of archived log files that can be retained. 1–10
Clear Logs Removes all existing logs from the Runner. Action button

1. Archive Numbering

The Archive Numbering option determines how archived log files are identified.

The available options are:

  • Rolling – Uses rolling numbering for archived files. The most recently archived file is assigned the lowest number, starting from 0.
  • Date – Uses the date and time associated with the archive period to identify the archived file.
  • Date and Sequence – Combines the archive date and time with a sequence number to identify the archived file.

2. Archive Period

The Archive Period option determines how frequently log files are archived.

Option Description
None Log files are not archived based on a time period.
Daily Log files are archived daily.
Monthly Log files are archived monthly.
Yearly Log files are archived yearly.

3. Concurrent Writes

The Concurrent Writes option determines whether multiple processes running on the same host can write to the same log file simultaneously.

Enable this option when multiple processes running on the same system need to write log information concurrently.

4. File Size

The File Size option specifies the maximum size allowed for a log file.

When the log file reaches the configured size limit, the Runner automatically archives the file and creates a new log file for subsequent log entries.

The file size is specified in bytes.

5. Maximum Number of Files

The Max No. of Files option specifies the maximum number of archived files that can be retained.

For example, if the value is set to 10, the Runner retains up to 10 archived files. When the number of archived files exceeds the configured limit, the oldest archived file is automatically removed.

6. Save and Clear Options

After configuring the required settings, click Save to apply the changes.

The Clear option can be used to remove the existing log files from the Runner.

Location of Archived Files

Archived product log files can be accessed from the following location on the Runner machine:

AppData → Local → Robility Runner → Logs → Product Log

The archived files stored in this location can be used for reviewing previous execution logs and troubleshooting Runner-related issues.

Note: The archive behavior depends on the configured Archive Numbering, Archive Period, File Size, Concurrent Writes, and Max No. of Files settings.
