Extract Table

Estimated reading: 2 minutes

The Extract Table activity is used to extract tabular data from a user interface, such as a web page or desktop application, and store it in a DataTable for further automation and processing.

Prerequisites

a. Add UI Vision Scope activity to use this activity.
b. The target application or web page must be open, visible, and accessible during execution.

Properties

INPUT

Delay After: Specifies the delay applied after the activity execution. The default value is 100 milliseconds; if left blank, no delay is applied.

Delay Before: Specifies the delay applied before the activity execution begins. The default value is 100 milliseconds; if left blank, no delay is applied.

Retry Count: Specifies the number of retry attempts if the activity fails. The default value is 3; if left blank, no retries are performed.

Selected Parameters: Specifies the type of data to extract during execution. Available options: Text, Table, All.

Timeout: Specifies the maximum time (in milliseconds) to wait for the activity to complete before a timeout occurs. The default value is 30,000 milliseconds; if left blank, the default is used.

MISC

Display Name: Specifies the display name of the activity. This can be customized to improve readability and troubleshooting.

Skip on Error: Defines the behavior when an error occurs:
True: Continues execution even if an error occurs
False: Stops execution when an error occurs
None: Defaults to False if not specified

Version: Indicates the version of the activity being used.

OPTION

Maximize: When checked, the target window is expanded to full screen to improve visibility and extraction accuracy; when unchecked, the window remains in its current size.

Output

Result: Returns the execution status of the activity as a Boolean value:
True: Execution completed successfully
False: Execution failed

How It Works

1. Use the Indicate on Scope option to select the target table from the UI.
2. The activity detects and captures the selected table element.
3. It reads all rows and columns from the table.
4. The extracted data is structured into a tabular format.
5. The output is stored in a DataTable variable for further use.
