Validation Coverage

Estimated reading: 2 minutes

The Validation Coverage page provides an overview of validation usage across all recorded UI automation steps. It helps users determine how many recorded steps include validation, identify steps where validation has been overridden, and review the overall validation coverage before executing the automation.

By reviewing Validation Coverage, users can identify gaps in validation and ensure that critical UI interactions are properly verified during test execution.

The Validation Coverage page displays the following metrics:

1. Validation Percentage: Shows the overall percentage of recorded steps that have validation enabled. A higher percentage indicates broader validation coverage across the recorded automation.

2. Total Steps: Displays the total number of recorded automation steps included in the current recording.

3. Override On: Displays the number of steps for which Override Validation is enabled. When Override Validation is enabled, the default validation behavior for those steps is replaced with user-defined validation settings.

4. Validated Steps: Displays the number of steps that currently contain validation, along with the total number of recorded steps.

Step Filters

Use the available filters to review validation status for recorded steps.

All – Displays every recorded step.
Validated – Displays only the steps with validation enabled.
Not Validated – Displays only the steps without validation.

These filters help quickly identify which steps require additional validation.

Validation Status

Status Description
Validated Validation is configured and executed for the recorded step.
Not Validated No validation has been configured for the recorded step.
