Download File

Estimated reading: 4 minutes

The Download File activity downloads a file from Microsoft SharePoint and saves it to a specified local path. It also supports converting compatible files to PDF format.

Prerequisites

1. A valid Project Key must be configured in the Publish Console to publish workflows.
2. A Microsoft 365 account with access to the required SharePoint site and files is required.
3. A SharePoint connection must be configured and authenticated in Robility Manager’s App Integration.
4. The connected account must have permission to access and download the required files.

Configure SharePoint Connection

Before using the Download File activity, create and authenticate a SharePoint connection in Robility Manager’s App Integration.

Once the connection is successfully created and authenticated:

1. Open Robility Designer.
2. Add the Download File activity to the workflow.
3. Select the configured account from the SharePoint dropdown.
4. Select the file to download.
5. Configure the remaining activity properties as required.

The activity uses the selected SharePoint connection to authenticate and access SharePoint resources.

Limitations

1. Only files accessible to the authenticated Microsoft 365 account can be downloaded.
2. The download fails if the selected file is deleted, moved, or becomes inaccessible.
3. PDF conversion is supported only for compatible file types.
4. Download time depends on file size, network speed, and SharePoint response time.
